Terms of Service

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Prompt Query. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Application.

3.2 Authority

If you are using Prompt Query on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that:

• You have authority to bind that organization to these Terms
• You have read and understood these Terms
• You agree to these Terms on behalf of the organization

4.1 Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install Prompt Query on your personal computer or device
• Use the Application for your personal or internal business purposes
• Access and use the features and functionality provided by the Application

4.2 License Restrictions

You may NOT:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Application
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
• Use the Application for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Application or related systems
• Use the Application to violate any laws or regulations
• Interfere with or disrupt the Application or servers connected to it

5.1 Account and Credentials

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your database credentials
• All activities that occur under your use of the Application
• Ensuring your device meets the minimum system requirements
• Keeping the Application updated to the latest version

5.2 Database Access

You represent and warrant that:

• You have legal authority to access any databases you connect to
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• You will not use the Application to access databases without proper authorization
• You will follow your organization's security and compliance policies

5.3 Query Review and Testing

You acknowledge and agree that:

• You must review all generated SQL queries before executing them
• Generated queries may contain errors and should be tested in a development environment first
• You are solely responsible for the SQL queries you execute
• We are not liable for any damage caused by generated or optimized queries

5.4 Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use Prompt Query to:

• Generate queries that violate laws or regulations
• Access or modify data without proper authorization
• Perform any illegal activities
• Generate malicious SQL (SQL injection, data exfiltration, etc.)
• Violate intellectual property rights
• Transmit harmful code or malware
• Interfere with database security or integrity

6.1 No Guarantees

You understand and agree that:

• AI-generated SQL queries are provided "as-is" without warranties
• Generated queries may be incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable for your needs
• The Application uses third-party AI services that we do not control
• AI models may produce unexpected or incorrect results

6.2 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• Reviewing and validating all generated SQL queries
• Testing queries before use in production
• Ensuring queries comply with your organization's policies
• Verifying query accuracy and performance
• Any consequences of executing generated queries

7.1 AI Service Providers

Prompt Query uses third-party AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) to provide functionality. Your use of these services is subject to:

• Their respective terms of service
• Their respective privacy policies
• Their service availability and limitations

7.2 Third-Party Links

The Application may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party sites.

8.1 Our Rights

Prompt Query, including its code, design, features, and documentation, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of:

• Your database queries and data
• Your natural language inputs
• Any content you create using the Application

By using the Application, you grant us a limited license to use your queries and inputs solely to provide the Service.

9.1 Service Availability

• The Application is provided "as-is" and "as-available"
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
• AI services may be unavailable or experience downtime
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time

9.2 No Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PROMPT QUERY IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability of generated queries
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation

9.3 Database Risks

You acknowledge that:

• Connecting to databases involves inherent risks
• Incorrect SQL queries can cause data loss or corruption
• You should maintain backups of your databases
• We are not responsible for any damage to your databases

10.1 Exclusion of Damages

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
• Damage to databases or data corruption
• Security breaches or unauthorized access
• Errors or omissions in generated SQL queries

10.2 Maximum Liability

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Application shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Application in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10.3 Essential Purpose

The limitations in this section are fundamental elements of the basis of the bargain between you and us, and we would not provide the Application without such limitations.

14.1 Termination by You

You may stop using Prompt Query at any time by:

• Uninstalling the Application
• Deleting all locally stored data
• Ceasing to access the Application

14.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Application at any time, with or without notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Illegal or unauthorized use
• Request by law enforcement
• Extended periods of inactivity
• Any other reason we deem necessary

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your license to use the Application ends
• You must stop using the Application
• We may delete your locally stored data (if applicable)
• Sections that by their nature should survive will survive termination

15.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15.2 Dispute Resolution Process

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Application shall be resolved through:

1. Good Faith Negotiation: Parties will attempt to resolve disputes through good faith negotiation
2. Mediation: If negotiation fails, disputes will be submitted to mediation
3. Arbitration: If mediation fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration

15.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any disputes will be resolved individually, and you waive any right to participate in class actions or consolidated proceedings.
